U.S. Tops 70,000 Coronavirus Cases In 1 Day — Heights Not Seen Since July

The U.S. has returned to an alarming height in new coronavirus cases, topping 70,000 for the first time since July. Here, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention map shows cases reported in the past seven days, as of Thursday afternoon.

U.S. cases have been rising sharply since the middle of September, when the daily rate was hovering around 40,000 cases.
